Adriana, I really appreciated this article! Your Pandas experience mirrors my own struggles when self-learning it for my thesis. The Excel comparison is spot-on -- it makes Pandas much less intimidating. It's great to see how you turned that initial fear into practical applications, like for your invoice automation.
Thank you for reminding us that these tools are more accessible than they seem!
Thank you so much for your support Rohan! Really interesting that you used Pandas to build your thesis, must have been a great way to learn it and apply it!
"Pandas is a powerful open-source data analysis and manipulation library for Python. It provides fast, flexible, and expressive data structures designed to make working with structured data both easy and intuitive"
I did a similar thing when I was in consulting, where I automated 3-hours/day excel job into a python script. I felt very proud of myself :)
Oh I have to check out Perplexity, I haven’t used it very much! So far I replaced Google Search with ChatGPT and it’s worked wonders. And yes, love that feeling of automating busy work!
I just want to express the pleasure it brings me to read your articles. Everything is so well structured and every image looks nice and in the right place.
It's really cool you are taking advantage of the power of python/pandas! Keep it up Adriana :)
Another great update Anastasia! Data analysis was my entire reason for getting into Python in the first place and you're right, Pandas is such a nifty tool.
Alex the Analyst is great! So good at explaining relatively complex things in such a simple and accessible way.
"The internet can brainwash us into believing that technical skills are exclusive to computer geniuses. It can create barriers of entry for “regular” people who would otherwise be great developers or data scientists."
This. All of this! That's why I'm grateful for people like Alex, who de-mystify a lot of this stuff.
Loved the article Adriana ! Loved your learning journey and the comparison with excel. You are making it so accessible to others !
Thank you so much Kartik!! Appreciate the support!

Thank you so much for your support Ayakin! 🙏🏼And totally agree, I’m such a big fan of educators like Alex that make the learning easier!
Haha, Pandas I remembered when I used it to develop a script to analyze bank statements. It was a long ride🥲
Hahah glad I’m not the only one who struggled with Pandas on their first try! 😅
